Hi, and welcome to our brand new CyclingFurther.com site!
We are Nico (left) and +Yves Taquet (right), both belgians, knowing each other for quite some time, and having traveled together a lot over the past few years : several camping trips across eastern europe (mostly Croatian wonderful coast), music festivals -recommending Sziget and Dourfestival :)-, and more physical trips, such as Kilimanjaro climb with Oxfam Ireland last year, where we took that picture.
This time, we decided to take it to the next level and go for a big journey on bicycle, from Hungary (starting in Budapest, where the idea was born) to the chinese border. We both quit our jobs to do it and got prepared for the past few months, getting our gear right, planning the journey, getting the visas (still some work to do there), and trying to get fit (big fail for that part on my side 🙂
We are starting the trip on the 1st on May in Budapest, and aim at reaching the chinese border somewhere in august. From there we’ll fly back to Budapest to celebrate our success at the Sziget Festival and then going back to Belgium bicycling.
We’ll feed the site and our Google+ page with pictures and hopefully interesting stories along the way!
You guys are god damn AWESOME! Pedal on!
GOOD LUCK !!! 😀
Amazing story guys, i moved to China this year from England but i didn’t cycle here.
Wish you a safe trip and many happy memories.

all the best. cheers!!!

Hey Nico and Yves,
Impressed by your trip. We are considering to cycle coast to coast from Batumi to Baku. Maybe you can share us some thought, tips or experiences for biking in Georgia and Azerbaijan. Thanks for the info
Cycling Georgia is amazing so far 🙂 People will give you food and open their doors. We have been advised to take M1 instead of A308 from Akhaltsikhe (skip Borjomi and Gori), as scenery is better and there is less traffic. Then in Ninotsminda go on A303 otherwise you arrive in Armenia 🙂
Both roads are excellent, brand new. More hilly than the regular road, but awesome! From Tbilisi to baku, keep posted!
What a cool project!!! Hope you got all your visas by now… 😉
Missing kazakh visa but it is apparently easy to get in baku, from what we’ve read they do it in one day. Lets hope its true!
Very cool! Love your blog and amazing photos!
Saw you blog via freshly pressed 🙂
I’m hooked on your adventure now, it’s so easy to read and I love the photos.

Good luck guys, have a good trip
